Before and After

“Canyon Family Playground”

Transformations:

Entry Court

Because this shady property had a tendency to stay moist and muddy, it was essential to improve the entry court and walkway to this modern home sited in a canyon.

Front Walkway

The existing small slate flagstone walkway was laid into larger raised pads of grey-colored concrete poured in place for a surefooted pathway to the front door.

Backyard Grill

Since the compacted clay soil was not conducive to a lawn, a new deck extending from the house was constructed with a built-in heated seating area as well as a bar and gas grill.

Play Area

A basketball court was installed, and custom-designed wooden swings were suspended from the limbs of a native oak tree. Permeable gravel floor keeps mud away and requires minimal maintenance.
